Saga Class on Icelandair is a great low-cost alternative to transatlantic business class; granted a quick stopover at the small island nation.

Last year I flew back home from Greenland via Copenhagen and Reykjavik on Air Greenland and Icelandair. I had previously flown in Icelandair’s Saga Business Class in 2020 and had a great experience, so I expected the same quality of service and comfort as last time. The product is consistently great with amazing food, exceptional space, and an enthusiastic crew: the 3 most important traits in my eyes.

  1. Great video! You hit the nail on the head about their livery being “cheesed up”. I don’t know what it is with airline liveries these days but they’re just awful. Stop fixing what isn’t broken! cough Lufthansa cough

  2. Saga class is more like a overpriced premium economy across the atlantic. Usually not competitive when starting from Oslo. You can get lie-flat seats for the same price on other carriers.

  3. Love the drums at the end. If you haven't already, check out Zildjian in Norwood, MA next time you are in Boston.

  4. Hello QFS. Another very interesting trip report. The braised beef ribs look exceptionally scrumptious. Watching you eat them made me hungry. Surprised that with the extra meal you had that you were able to walk off the aircraft without discomfort. Almost flew Icelandair last year from Toronto to Scotland but the reviews I read (do not know if they were Economy or Saga Class reviews) were not very complementary so my spouse and I went with Air Transat direct to Glasgow instead. If I ever have to make another flight to that area, I will definitely consider Saga Class with Icelandair. Keep up the good work!

  5. cabin similar to Martinair Star Class at the time on long haul, angled seats. little privacy as well. No champagne as a pre-flight drink? and how do you get on board if you have a disability to climb stairs?

  6. Mr. Soloviev. It is noticeable that your vlogs have matured. The longer intros are welcome and could still be further enhanced. I also notice that you more readily respond to comments whereas previously we hardly ever got a peep out of you ! Travelling vicariously with you ( and at your expense ) is ever more pleasurable. Thank you.

  7. I think you can’t really compare it to other European Business class since the seat is more like a premium economy seat without lie flat

  8. All the product are imported to Iceland as nothing grow in the country ! I find Iceland service very average and food to ! Iceland don’t have food culture as Europe have 😮 Iceland is beautiful but same time boring ! Boston is my favourite city in America ❤

  9. If the business seat can fully flat, I think it will be better especially for overnight flight from North America to REF

  10. Even though their seats and cabin isn't much to brag about. The service is top notch

  11. Wait wait wait…single prong headphones?! Also nice sized amenity kit, I can see myself using that on future trips; the one I got at EVA Air was too small.

  12. Great video, but just not sure that 'small island nation' is the right description for Iceland. Speaks heaps about the bias over other countries' size, and the lack of geographical knowledge of a lot of people.. I'm sure you would not define Ireland a 'small island nation', would you? (Yet, Ireland is less than a third of Iceland's size, and most certainly an island too )
