Hello Adrien, i just discoverd ur channel 2 days ago and i watched every videos and i keep rewatching some of them cuz they are relaxing, the way you shoot ur b-rolls and ur luts and presets and the music u use are cozy and i love the way u color grade, definitely im gonna buy ur luts and presets. thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. love from Saudi Arabia to Japan/Switzerland <3
do you use masking in lightroom when you edit the photos?
When I had my a7rII, I had a 56 mm Helios and I loved it. I gotta get back on it 🙂
Amazing video. I also think that manual lenses are good when connecting with photography! I have the FD 50mm f1.4 and 28mm f2.8 from canon and i use them pretty often when shooting in day light!
I don’t trust my eyesight for manual lenses 😔
Just in time to enjoy with my morning coffee! Not even watched yet but that first shot is beautiful 🙂
Great video and good. Very well explained 🙂 and great shots, the one with the silhouette of the lady is beautiful 👍
Love the style and significance of your content…Thank You!
Love your videos brother!
Found out about your channel through the POV and On The Streets videos. Absolutely love your content.
I enjoy shooting with manual lenses—I have a couple of Asahi Takumars, a 55 f/1.8 and a 28 f/3.5. In some ways I find it easier than using autofocus, in that I'm not fiddling with autofocus modes, moving the autofocus point, etc. It's just twist and shoot. The wider lens lets me take advantage of zone focusing as well, something that focus by wire AF lenses just aren't that good at. But I especially like taking out the 55mm; the focal length and the character of the lens is a great combination for capturing detail shots with good center sharpness and a pleasing falloff toward the edges of the frame. I love trying out different lenses, both new and new-to-me. The relative affordability of most vintage lenses helps make that possible.
Shooting with vintage manual lenses is a rabbit hole that has no end. At first you find yourself using cheap ones. After awhile though you are spending hundreds on lenses older than you are. They are incredible and shine these days with modern cameras.
Nice colour aesthetic. The whole series has a great mood. I used to shoot film and I think the experience is more important than the results, so for me doing things to feel connected like this is most of the fun.
I used to shoot manual focus digital a lot on my A7II. I actually moved to Fujifilm from Sony mostly because of this, since the X-T series had the best manual focus assist functions at the time (2016) — A dual EVF screen, where one side is the full image, the other is the 100% zoom to really fine tune focus.
I have been looking at the Leica Elmarit for a long time as my perfect lens, but with a crop sensor, I won't be getting the full 28. So, I just abandoned the whole idea and started shooting zone focus with the LCD instead. 😂
Maybe one day I will finally get my Elmarit and go back to full frame. If only the FX3 wasn't so expensive. 😬
The photo with the man and dog is incredible! One of my favorites from your recent ones. Keep up the awesome work, insightful video as always.
whats the name of the lens youre using here for manual?
I recently caught up watching all your videos. now I look forward to all of your uploads
I've been considering a manual lens for a while now, this might be the final push I need to get one. I definitely get carried away using automatic lenses with modern camera burst rates. I have 650gb of files from a 3 week trip in Italy! Great video again keep it up!
Me and my Helios 44-2 agree with that. Beautiful lens for portraits and also nicely sharp with my Sony A7RII 💜
Watching your video After long time 😉, and still great as always 😜. It's really inspirational for me.
Is the video shot on the A7IV ?
Lovely images on both video and photo ❤
In a world with an increasing amount of procedural/ai art either augmenting or replacing the process, it's going to become more and more important to reflect upon the process itself.
For many individuals that might be going back to manual exposure film photography, but for many it's as simple as slowing down and focussing manually and exposing more manually.
It's an experience I thoroughly recommend having as part of any photographers repertoire
