My self-built home has changed A LOT in the last few years! This van tour focuses on each upgrade, why I installed or built it, and how it’s currently going.
I’m falling more in love with my custom cabin on wheels with each little upgrade!

We are Linnea and Akela. Through the van build, I used my stubbornness and drive to show individuals that they, too, can convert a campervan by themselves and on a budget, with a lot of learning, rolling up the sleeves, and getting to work.
Our goal is to inspire individuals to chase their dreams… to break from societal limitations and live the life they truly desire.

To Go and Galley??? You totally worked in restaurants before! ❤❤❤
This is the first video i've ever seen of yours and WOW am I super impressed with the fact that you learned how to do all of this by yourself. That's amazing and I love it! I wish I knew about van life and full time living in RVs, etc. when I was younger because I would have totally ventured out and had some adventures with a dog before settling down in life as I got older. Honestly, I wish I could uproot me, my husband, and 4 kids and travel full time living like this – what a dream! Enjoy!
WOW!!! is all I can say.
great video
I moved to Queretaro in 2021 at 79. For a safer, less expensive, and cooler weather.
People reap what they sow.
Behave everyone please
I really love your channel. Well done. Thank-you so much.
Your van is beautiful. It’s about as close to a perfect cabin vibe as you could get. I love the energy you project while describing the design choices you made and I think your decision to simplify some of your van systems was sound. Your heating system for example – there’s a finite supply of diesel in the world but an almost infinite supply of wood. It’s a sustainable and renewable resource. Between the wood stove and the hunting and fishing, you could live off-grid indefinitely. Well done! 🥰
Miss, you are an inspiration. You are happy to build stuff for yourself, and flexible enough to fix things that you want to improve. It doesn't have to be perfect the first time, and as inspiration hits improvements happen. Happy for you for living life on your own terms.
I love your home. The impercectionxare what makes it perfect and gives it so much character. It is cosy and warm, and to me, it is very inviting. Also, i love that you are very aware of nature and how she works, and the fact that you are not a wishy washy vegan but a meat eater. The fact that you hunt or fish for what you need. You do not hunt for sport ( or that is how you come across ,to me). You sow respect. Using a bow is the best and mych cleaner kill. What made you go with biw and arrows rather than a gun and bullets? You are a very strong, brave, independent woman, and i admire that. But the best thing about you is your realness and down to earth attitude. I am glad i came across your channel x
I am really impressed . Great job.
This is definitely one of my favorite videos and I'm so glad I came across it! I'm doing some youtube research because I'm hoping to do this myself someday. Just one question: what is the shower situation going to be like if you are planning to spend the entire winter here?
Good for you. Well done.
I like your pikachu
Wishing you all the best lady.
You are an a amazing woman! I’m a 70 yr old granny. If I could go back in time 50 years, I would follow in your foot steps. Again, you are amazing!!! ❤️☘️
I think you're probably living in that big fancy bus and using the van as a prop to make videos.
Very adventurous to spend winter in the north woods! How do you like your wood stove? What kind is it? Do you keep it going all night? How often do you have to put more wood in to keep it going? Thanks! Good luck on your next adventure!

You've reignited my hope– thank you. I believe in my abilities, but finances have never seemed to work out to allow me to live and be on my own for more than a few months at a time. At 38yrs old (in 1 week 🧁) I forget that my lack of success toward my life's experiences and just living is not something to accurately hold against myself. My mom–lets just say even her father cut her off financially after her oldest kid (me) made it to adulthood, because she's just that terrible at decision making and you just know the money will be poorly managed. I'm all she's got (she's all the fam I've got left too). Bittersweetly, she's passing soon, so then I'll have that freedom parents experience when their "kids leave the nest". I digress– I always worry about financial instability and what I can realistically afford. I forget what I've done in my past to prepare for van/box truck living–like that time I went to Prime Inc and learned how to be a long haul trucker for free and did it for a year–and loved it! Living in the truck, showering at the TA's and gym. I enjoyed the lifestyle, everyday was an adventure! Only downside is the size of truck and deadlines mean you can't get to the gyms and such as often. Again– Thank you so much for mentioning affordability several times and the reminder that you can be happy by being simple.
Also, aside, excellent point about KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) when you mentioned hating having to deal with things that can break, like plumbing. I'd rather have everything working how I expect, even if it requires a little more work (like chopping my own wood) than trying to turn on my water to make coffee in the morning to find the battery is dead for the pump because it got too cold and I didn't use lithium, etc. It's good to see others are happy other than those on Life Below Zero (Netflix–I think)
Thanks for the update!
Hey Linnea could you do a video on all your gear and clothing that you own?
Welcome to Wisconsin. But why so far up north. Along Lake Movhigan
I am so impressed with what you've done. Love your choices of materials and how industrious and self sufficient you are. I'm picky with discerning tastes, so you should be very proud of yourself. I've designed and built high-end homes and love the outdoors too. I don't think I could've built this cabinetry as well as you have. Bravo!
Girl, you need to buy a acre of land somewhere. I could easily see you building your own house.
Really enjoyed the video. I watched for the beginning to the end. Don’t know if I would ever be brave enough to do what you’re doing but it was still a fun video to watch woman alone. Seems a little bit scaring to me but I’m not very handy either. Thanks so much for sharing all the great tips just in case I ever buy something small and compact to live in.
Amazing Van Linn… You should have put an Altar for praying…to Jesus & Mary…to be safe all the time…and to receive grace…from Heaven…

Good job, Linnea. Love your build.
Killing animals and fish is shameful. Go vegan. Use a camera instead of killing implements.
