Cultural and heritage tourism is an important part of the global tourism industry. A type of niche tourism, cultural and heritage tourism can help to ensure sustainable tourism management.
In this talk I am joined by Nigel Fell from the World Tourism Association for Culture and Heritage who talks about the importance of cultural and heritage tourism and gives examples of both good and bad practice.

I was just given a research paper to do on this topic. Very informative. Thank you so much for sharing.
Great topic and informative, thank you.
Thank you Dr. Hayley for this very informative session. I currently teach (remotely) to students from the Philippines to the USA. Also, I just joined the World Tourism Association for Culture and Heritage (WTACH) after watching this episode. Thanks to your advocacy of making tourism concepts more understandable to many and stepping outside your academic bubble. Looking forward to continuing my CHT advocacy in my local community back in the motherland (Butuan City, Philippines) both as a stakeholder in the academic and tourism frontline service provider. Should you need a network in the Philippines and Southeast Asian region, I would love to be of help as well. Again, thank you and I once traveled to China too.
I am using this as part of my final research paper. Thanks for the info!
Really great points. Glad to have found it. We are likeminded. Our latest vlog is our 7 minute discussion on our goals and tenets of responsible tourism. As anthropologists, veterans, and park rangers, we love cultural and ecological travel. Check it out if you would like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z60acS6ERsE
