The Inujima Smelter is a copper smelter that once existed in Inujima in Okayama City.

It was opened in 1909. At its peak, it had more than 2,000 employees.
However, due to the collapse of copper prices, it ceased operations in 1919 and was abolished in 1925.
It closed after only 10 years as a copper smelter and was abandoned for about 90 years.
Since 2001, the Naoshima Fukutake Museum of Art has been reusing the former smelter as part of the Inujima Art Project.

    1909 年に開設され、最盛期には 2,000 人を超える従業員がいました。
    しかし、銅価の暴落により1919年に操業を停止し、1925年に廃止されました。
    銅製錬所としてわずか10年で閉鎖され、約90年間放置されていました。
    直島福武美術館では、2001年から犬島アートプロジェクトの一環として製錬所跡地を再利用しています。
