河津桜は2月上旬から開花しはじめる早咲きの桜で、1955年に河津町で発見されました。伊豆の温暖な気候と早咲きの特色を生かし、約1ヶ月を経て満開になります。
Kawazu-zakura is an early-blooming cherry blossom that begins to bloom in early February, and was discovered in Kawazu-cho in 1955. Taking advantage of Izu’s mild climate and early blooming characteristics, it takes about a month to reach full bloom.
