While conducting business near Sugamo street, I noticed an unusually high number of people. It was a typical Saturday, but perhaps the crowd was related to the Setsubun holiday that had occurred the previous day. Intrigued, I decided to take a walk through the bustling street, filled with vendors selling various goods and foods. I began my walk from Sugamo station and strolled through the colorful stalls until I reached Koshinzuka station. On my way back to Sugamo station, I opted to explore the back streets to fully experience the neighborhood’s charm. At the end of my walk, I treated myself to a delicious beef-on-a-stick from one of the vendors.
No cats were found 😿

Interestingly I was there on 17Feb Fri and apart from having far less people, there wasn’t any “pop up stalls” along the street! I wonder if they only open at weekends
I had a lot of fun seeing so many different stalls and shopping for or buying things all along the way.
oh! I used to live around the Sugamo-Sengoku area about 10 years ago, nice to see it again..
I didn't know there was a Hanamasa there, it wasn't there when I lived there…
Between Sugamo and Otsuka, Near the JR track, there is an old love hotel that looks like an aquarium from the outside, with round concave windows, tiles all over the building..
arigatou!
There's always something about market streets like this, makes me glad to see people out and about doing business. It says to me, the world is turning, no matter what.
Love this video! Hey Ram and Sunday chat !!
Such a pleasant walk 🤗 – it's nice to feel the atmosphere of the both faces of the city, the busy shopping streets with all the cool interesting people there, and the special charm of the quiet back streets. Cute trams 👋and the houses along the rails! Stalls selling things worth ''exploring''😁, and yummy food incl. your ''fiery'' beef – was it hot=spicy, too🙀 😋👍?
I love it 🗾⭐✨💖
this looks like such a fun place to get lost at
lindo video
What a beautiful day for a walk. We enjoyed the sights, sounds and scenery. There is so much to see there, Thanks for sharing, have a great week. Greetings from your friends in Naples, Florida. (Like 404) 👍💯
Beautiful walk !!! And I didn't see one piece of litter on the ground…A great inspirational nation…the Japanese..
They're still wearing masks?
I read Sugamo is a shopping district that caters to the elderly. The district's popular 800 meter long Jizo Dori shopping street is also affectionately known as the "Old Ladies' Harajuku" in lighthearted comparison to the Harajuku district's status as one of Japan's foremost youthful shopping and fashion destinations. The original reason for Sugamo's popularity is found at Koganji Temple halfway down the shopping street (3:02 and 37:20 in this video). The small temple is home to the popular Arai Kannon statue which is thought to help heal ailments. I do see a lot of elderly in this video walking about which I find heart-warming as Japan has one of the oldest populations in the world and it's great to see there are shopping districts in Tokyo that cater to the older folks and not just the young people.
When did those S.Ride taxis show up?
Hello. Do you have anything about Nihonmatsu city??
Hi Rambalac, do you have a link (affiliate link) for the server you use for your 24 hour stream? Thanks!
I find Ramba's content to be the best work/study company. No shouty intrusive narration, no bad taste music, just raw Japan experience with organic ambience.
Love this, love all of your content! Are you thinking of going back to Osaka at anytime ? ❤️
Rambalac, I love the dynamic range in your videos.
In DaVinci, how much do you typically shadow boost and reduce the highlights? I find +15 and -15 respectively is ideal overall.
Loved the market street, from eatery shops, clothes and accessories, jus like strolling to nostalgic charms.Inviting ending with a taste of yakitori.TQ,Ram,for an upload of interesting street scene!!!👍🙏🤗😉😋😀😍
19:40 Why is there a car? How did it get there? Does that thing really fit through that narrow street?
I'm confused…
Can someone explain to me why there are a bunch of filled water bottles in the street at 32:20 ?
Edit: Apparently this is the reason
"Known as ‘nekoyoke’ (cat repellants), the bottles are apparently there to stop cats from doing their business. The prevailing idea is that light would break through the water and act as a mirror or kaleidoscope, which would in turn scare away cats.
Although there’s little scientific evidence for this, the practice allegedly spread as far as Europe in the ’80s, but (unsurprisingly) lost popularity after that. We can't exactly testify to its success rate, but it could just double as a novel way to recycle those mountains of PET bottles. "
Take care man<3
awesome
Whenever you walked upon a vending machine I noticed you often go for the same brand 😆. Btw, of all your videos I've watched, I don't think I've ever seen anyone probably chilling in their own balcony. I know that's what I would do, just enjoying a cup of coffee and enjoying the vibe around me
hey ramba, how you doing? i sent you an email. it's regarding a app we can potentially build together.. let me know if you are interested. 🙂
