-6º Burr! We were beyond impressed with the way our 2004 Lance 815 handled our coldest night yet! As the winter storm rolled in, we spend the night near Evergreen Colorado waiting our the cold and hoping for warmer days ahead!

What’s the coldest you’ve camped in? We love to hear your thoughts and appreciate you watching!

Hope you have a LARGE day!
Connor & Amelia

  1. I’m thinking about 1inch sheet of insulation between truck bed and camper. Think the floor would stay warmer? Put the reflective side to reflect heat back onto floor?

  2. If you open a vent just a bit, it would reduce your condensation and freezing windows…. and reduce a chance for carbon monoxide… But, You are still living my dream! Thanks for sharing…

  3. Nope, LOL, Fred and I would not do well in our tiny home of 50 degrees. You guys are troopers. We enjoyed the video. Stay Safe and Warm. Mary 💕 Fred

  4. Pro cook tip… save a little of the pasta water and add to sauce. lt Helps noodles and sauce bind.! Thank you for the whiskey mule recipe with jalapeños. It’s awesome. Enjoy the snow. The wife and I are heading out for a month rv travels in April. Starting from home state Oregon. Recommend you visit Oregon when you have a chance! Your videos have been giving us ideas for meals and the way you cook them for our trip.

  5. Have you tried those candle heaters, if not try those when you are awake. I think Amazon has them! Candles to help!

  6. Brrrr!! You're both real troopers! The coldest night I've spent in my TC was +20F in Alaska in late August. Safe travels.

  7. Love you guys, but you crack me up! Most people head to warmer climates in the winter…chasing 70° weather. But you two, nooooooo you just have to go against the norm and chase the cold and snowy Colorado mountains weather! Lol Love it and glad you’re enjoying yourselves. Already looking forward to your next location and video. As always, stay safe (and now warm) out there…..

  8. From a fellow Lance truck camper who made the trek to Florida for the winter… get out of the cold!!! You guys are beautiful! Stay warm.

  9. WOW!!! In Evergreen Colorado. There is so much to see and do in Colorado that I hope you come back in the Summer to have some fun. 😊

  10. To me the worst video you've made. Who would want to camp like this? It's not really camping more like a survival video. I couldn't come away with a positive about it. Who would want to be this uncomfortable. I'm sure the peiple who let you stay in their driveway also let you into their home to warm up. If so, you should have thanked them on the video. I like most of your videos just not this one. You try too hard to make it look ok. Just my opinion.

  11. My partner and I recently did a night of -47 f in our Spacepod, that’s crazy the Lance could handle that! ❤

  12. Great video. I subscribed when you got the Lance and have really enjoyed watching. Winter camping is worth the challenges. We have a Bigfoot camper. It has a 30k btu heater and dual pane windows. We are pretty comfortable in any weather. I am 80 and my wife is 78, so we have to be sure we are safe. We took a 3 month trip to Newfoundland last year and are going back this year. You should consider it in your future travels. It is truly amazing. We live in Colorado.

  13. I would recommend buying a small propane generator. ALP has a 1000 watt one that I use in my sprinter van. It could power the fan on your furnace while charging your batteries. My batteries charge at 400 watts per hour. My generator will run roughly 60 hours on a 20lb tank, at 50-60 % output. You can and should probably consider a heater for your battery box. It can be as simple as an incandescent bulb wired to a temp controller to turn on the bulb and keep box temp above 35 and below 40 to keep your batteries over freezing so you can charge when sun is out. Nothing will destroy your LI ION BATTERY like charging at below freezing. Sounds like your system is trying to protect from that at least. Nice videos BTW.

  14. it's probably been mentioned, or you've thought of it, but if you make some doubled-up reflectix panels for your windows it'll really help with insulation…we've been down under 10 in our FWC with propane heat & supplementary buddy heater & we keep it over 50, so that's nice. plus, invest in a couple of wool blankets be all you ever need. more snow camping!!!

  15. Great videos you two are doing for us, thank you so much. I love your cooking. You tell your stories well.

  16. we ice fish in -20, the only issue we have ever had is the regulator freezes up on propane tanks, get a high flow regulator if you can, usually red screw ons and not green, hole is bigger for propane to flow better, and we run a honda generator to keep batteries charged
    good luck

  17. You asked about dispersed camping in Colorado and there is one spot I’ve been wanting to come back to and would like to stay a night to help explore so really I’m asking you a question lol. I was curious if a guy could stay overnight here and if so this is my boondocking recommendation for Colorado I haven’t been around Colorado much to know any more places. Any way. I was curious if anyone knows if this place is allowed to stay overnight and I recommend it if so. Trails rock climbing and beautiful creek flowing.

  18. Vent your roof vent open the tiniest bit and run the exhaust fan out all night. Seems counter productive but will pull the heat to the cabover and will exhaust all of your moisture and prevent window condensation. (we live in Alaska and truck camp in very low temps).

  19. Just subscribed! I do hate the snow. We moved from central CA to WI, so will never get used to the cold snowy mos of winter here. But I enjoy you guys doing it!

  20. Don’t have supplementary heater going in that temp. You need furnace to heat the underbelly. I would have drained tanks and water lines. I would use water in 5 gal. containers in that temp.

  21. Hey guys 👋🏻😃, so glad to have come across your channel and be part of your community 😍. Love your adventures! Peace out ✌🏼 🤗

  22. Hi What's going on ( Living Large camping ) I gotta say I love doing the Camping where ever I can how ever I can We just pull over to national parks or rest area's like open parking lots etc

  23. Awesome, you guys inspire me to reseal my older truck camper when it warms up this spring and go camping like this. Thanks for sharing with us.

  24. Respect for sticking it out in a three season in these conditions!! I hope you can get a solid four season TC one day. <3

  25. Do you keep a backup propane? You should insulate your propane tank to help keep it warm. Also, try putting plastic film over your windows to help with condensation. It also helps a bit with keeping you warmer.
