I was in summer 2022 in hotel roc arenas doradas. A good hotel with a big beach. The rooms are in good Conditions. I was in this hotel for the third time👍
Memories is awful..went there in May 2022 and I'm never,ever going there again. Food was absolutely disgusting…when there was any. Couldn't even get bacon with my breakfast.

What a shame that the system is helped by its tourism. The people of Cuba are hungry, cannot own their own business, cannot enjoy what tourists enjoys. They go days without power, there is lack of clean water. Multiple families have to share one home. They only show tourists what they repair and keep clean. Free healthcare but no medicine, free learning a career, but lawyers, doctors, architects, nurses, etc, etc. Don’t get to have their own practice, everyone works for the government and gets a designated amount of money equally, wether you are educated or not. Taxi drivers make more money than a person with an education. There is indoctrination in schools, there is no freedom of speech, no freedom of the press, no right to vote….NOTHING …..that’s why so many Cubans still risks their lives to get away from that hell hole. I left 60 yrs ago and will never set foot in Cuba until the Communist regime rules the country that I was born. If you protest peacefully, they might send you to jail for years or perhaps if they feel any threat, you are killed. Mrs Ruz

No travel to Cuba please. Tourism helps only the criminal government, it doesn’t help the people. People want freedom. They had peaceful protests and were thrown in jail. Not a fun place to travel. It’s dangerous, the infrastructures are very bad, the roads and traveling once there is dangerous, the food I’d difficult to find, water is not good, get ready to come back home with bacteria in your stomach, illnesses are rampant, no medicine. ,any tourists have been hurt. Don’t go don’t purchase anything. Instead, inform our international community that there are extreme human rights abuses. You are not safe. NO TRAVEL TO CUBA!!!
It’s been awhile since I went but I’ve been to Varadero about 20 times.. I always enjoyed my stay, hotels were great, food was great and you won’t find a nicer beach… Punta Cana and Cancun don’t even come close lol.. they may have nicer hotels and better food but the beaches were crappy

Tried a 2 star resort Gran Caribe Sunbeach (in 2015) and I wouldnt even go there again for free. When in Varadero, it just isnt worth paying less for a bad all inclusive or it will ruin your whole trip.
Better way to Cancun with that ! Pricey !
And to think, that the money tourist spend on these resorts are not to an advantage for the Cuban citizens, but only for the commies to spend on themselves. 😡

Cuba is hurting right now. It is the worst it has ever been. Varadero is terrible. During the day, there are hardly any people downtown. All resorts are false advertising right now because they say they have 5 a la cartes but only 2 are open and they both serve the same meal. Dont pay more than 700-800 CAD or you are wasting your money.
I was in summer 2022 in hotel Royalton Hicacos Resort And Spa. The room was in good condition but there were bedbugs and mosquitos which annoyed me all week and I will never book this hotel again!
