In this Thailand Travel Vlog we head to ISAAN for the first time!! We decided to take a weekend trip from Bangkok to visit Buriram, Thailand! There was so much we wanted to do on this trip and we managed to get most of it done on our weekend away!
We arrived on a bus from Bangkok late Friday night so we went directly to sleep. When we woke up on Saturday we first wanted to rent a motorbike to drive around! Unfortunately most places didn’t have any bikes available! We ended up talking to the motorbike taxi drivers by the Buriram bus station. They were SO nice and ended up calling a friend who delivered a bike to us that we could rent! 🎉🎉🎉
We drove an hour south of the Buriram city center to visit Phanom Rung Historical Park! It ended up being the most amazing temple visit! Phanom Rung is a Khmer monument that is similar in design to Angkor Wat in Cambodia! We had so much fun walking around the temple and exploring the grounds. The temple is actually built on top of an extinct volcano so there are nice views of the surrounding area.
When we purchased our tickets to Phanom Rung, we actually got joint tickets for both Phanom Rung Historical Park as well as Prasat Muang Tam! Prasat Muang Tam is another ancient Khmer temple only 10 minutes from Phanom Rung!
On the drive between them we stopped at a roadside Thai restaurant that we were driving past. It didn’t look too special from the front, but the back was SO cute!! We wanted to try some Isan Thai food while we were in the area. We ended up ordering Isan som tum (papaya salad), as well as beef larb and some fried rice. The food was interesting.
Unfortunately the weekend we traveled ended up being the coldest weekend in the whole year we lived in Thailand! Which was made even colder because we were in Buriram!!! But we still had an amazing day!

Most of real local Isaan food i've tasted, is more salty than the one in BKK. Not much sweetness in it. For me, isaan food in the central Thailand is most my most fav
So happy with you guys! We usually have many temples to visit in this part of the country.Isan is said to be the land of friendly and kind people. Many western people come here to become Buddhist monks which you can visit at Wat pa na na chart( International buddhist monastery ) in Ubon.

In Thailand we said "Korat is the door for E-san city "how you skip It 😖my mom will be so angry if you don't come to visit us 🤣 if you have a chance to travel Korat here our Legendary grandma "Mo" she will always standing there to welcome you .we have famous food like "Kanom jeen Korat" and "Mee Korat" if you know"Wirieluk(Pepper)" Chrissy Teigen 'mom mother in law of John Legend she born here she love to cook "Mee Korat"for her children. but you have to find out the original recipe

When you guys travel to the countryside of Thailand, You should opt for a car instead of motorbike bc it is pretty dangerous there due to how ppl drive, lots of foreigners end up losing their life because of that. Hope you guys stay safe and enjoy the time here, God bless🙏
