Hirosaki is a city in the north of Japan not far from Aomori city capital of Aomori prefecture. It’s famous for apples so you will find a lot of apple stuff around including vending machines selling nothing but apple juice.
I walked from Hirosaki station to Yasaka shrine and Saishoin temple where met the New Year. Then I walked further to Hirosaki castle.
Did not find cats but found many snowmen ⛄

In Akita prefecture, in the train station of Akita city, there is a statue of Hachiko, just like the one in Shibuya.
