Fellow beach lovers and sun goddesses, I bring to you the top 5 beaches of Tokyo!
I would like to clarify from the start that I am talking about the metropolitan region of Tokyo, therefore I am including Kanagawa and Chiba. Basically everything that is reasonably reachable from central Tokyo. There really are no beaches in Tokyo. At least there are no beaches in Tokyo that you can swim in.
Are you ready to find out about the best beaches of Tokyo?
1. Odaiba – the best sunset in Tokyo
Now technically Odaiba has a beach that you can go to and have fun at. But you are NOT allowed to swim there!
It is still one of my favorite places to chill out and have a cold beer in the evening in Tokyo. And you can definitely find one of the best sunsets in Tokyo.
2. Zushi Beach – Foreigners and young people
Zushi beach is the beach where this video was made. Zushi beach is one of the most popular beaches around Tokyo. It is rather frequented by foreigners due to the nearby US army base in Yokosuka. So if you are searching for some foreign and/or American friends to party with, this is the place to go! Generally you will find a younger crowd here that likes to party. In addition you will get awesome views during sunset with Enoshima and Mount Fuji directly in your view.
3. Enoshima – Party central
Now THAT place is party central during summer. The beach known as “Shonan beach” next to Enoshima is definitely the best party beach in Japan. During the summer months of July and August, the whole beach is full with bars and beach clubs. You will always find someone to party and drink with here, even if you go by yourself. Japanese people will tell you that you will find a lot of crazy people here. In my opinion, they are mostly crazy fun!

4. Kamakura’s Yuigahama Beach
For all culture lovers, this might be the right beach in Japan. Kamakura was the capitol of Japan for a while, some 900 years ago and from that time, there is still a lot to see. There are a bunch of super beautiful temples and a huge buddha statue. Plus, of course, a lovely beach. Yuigahama beach is a more family friendly and calm beach, best for all people that want to relax and avoid the party beaches.
5. Kujukurihama
My only mention on the other side of Tokyo in Chiba. Kujukurihama is HUGE, thereforee if you like to be alone on the beach, this is the beach for you. Due to having a lot of space, it is also very family friendly as nobody will be bothered by loud and playing children. The beach infrastructure is not as good as in Kanagawa, therefore you should come prepared with everything you want to eat and drink or not be picky. It is also wise to come here by car, depending on which part of the beach you want to go.
Hope you guys got a good idea of the best beaches in Tokyo after this video and hope you give it a thumbs up or even subscribe!
