An hour’s wait is the norm! We closely followed the opening of a stall run by a 76 year old man who attracts people one after another!
Imaya hamburger shop in Hakata’s West Park.
As you can see from the children’s bike in the first half of the video, the old man loves his customers.
The hot dogs with handmade hamburgers and custom-made sausages are also really delicious.
He says, “Hot dogs take a long time to make, so I can’t keep customers waiting,” and he rarely eats from 11:00 a.m. until dusk.
In the winter, he also rarely drinks water because he “can’t go to the bathroom.
We were allowed to enter the restaurant, and were told that because the ovens are close by, it gets hot inside, close to 40 degrees Celsius in the summer. He says he is well-trained, but I am a little worried….
He said that his apprentices have already opened several restaurants under the name of “Imaya’s Hamburgers” and the taste will be passed on to the next generation.
By the way, since the burgers are made slowly, if there are about 10 people in line, it can easily take more than an hour to get a burger, so we recommend that you be prepared to wait.
