If you are in Tokyo and you want to explore a traditional city not too far (just 30 minutes away), Kawagoe is the ideal option!

It’s actually the very first place I visited when I arrived in Japan so it has a very special place in my heart! ❀️

Kawagoe nickname is Ko Edo, which basically means “The Little Edo”. Edo is the old name of Tokyo and Kawagoe is often called Ko-Edo because it looks like Tokyo city during the Edo period.

Visiting Kawagoe is like traveling through time! βŒ›

During this video, we will visit beautiful temples and shrines first to finally arrive at the traditional Kanetsuki street with its gorgeous Bell Tower (Toki no Kane).

You will see here a lot of Japanese girls wearing traditional kimono. The Starbucks of this street is also really nice with a Japanese zen garden inside it! We will finish our tour in Kashiya Yokocho, the candy alley where you can buy a lot of delicious sweet street food!
