About a year ago I decided to build a chuckwagon to tow behind my car-camper to make cooking on the road easier. In this video I give a basic run through of how I built it. Technically it is called a ‘Yatai’ but while traveling other campers called it a ‘tiki bar,’ ‘sake bar,’ even a couple times people thought I was towing a dog house. But basically it is an izakaya on wheels.

Will post some adventures from the 20k miles I traveled with it, along with some camp cooking videos in the future.

Though if you can’t wait… a chronology of my trip can be found on my instagram ‘tokyocooney.’ You can also find me on Twitter and TikTok under TokyoCooney.
There is a post with a bit more detail on my website- https://tokyocooney.wpcomstaging.com/2022/12/23/honey-i-built-a-yatai/

  1. When I was watching you eat squid ice-cream in a Tokyo skyscraper 15 years ago I didn't think that

A – I'd be watching new stuff of yours in the sci-fi future of the 2020s
    or
B – It would be an HGTV American Roadtrip vlog

But it's all great stuff! Keep it up 👍

  2. Good to see you posting a new video! (…Says Mr. Sporadic Uploader himself…😅🤔😅)
I hope you will be posting videos of at least some of spots you took those pics at! 🍻

  3. This is Awesome. Your videos inspired me to start doing some road trips. Just drove around California and Nevada for now, but I had an amazing time and I hope to do more.

  4. I love it! Glad to see you're back at it again. One construction tip for the trailer that can save a lot of heartache – add "Locktite" blue to the threading of bolts. Otherwise they will vibrate loose over time. Much love can't wait to see more vids. Also – you look good with a clean shave man.

  5. That's it. I am going to Home Depot today and building the shelf of my dreams. Thanks, Spiderman… I mean Kevin! xD

  6. That was inspiring and what a great idea of those Japanese food stalls.Japanese cart ride literally, you can pack everything you need to.

  7. Great to see you back after a year. For a while, I thought you had gone into hiding again =). Hope everything is going well for you and your loved ones!
