💁*Information about the Authentic Dutch Windmill “De Liefde”* :

The windmill “De Liefde” was built as the landmark of Sakura Furusato Square, and also a symbol of friendly relations between the Netherlands and Sakura city in Chiba Prefecture. “De Liefde” is Japan’s first authentic Dutch water pumping windmill actually being operated. It was manufactured in the Netherlands and was assembled in Sakura city with the cooperation of Dutch engineers. The four-story windmill tower, built from reinforced concrete and brick walls, measures 15.6 meters high, It has four sails that form 27.5 meters in diameter. Visitors can enter the tower and can closely observe mechanism of the internal structure, including the waterwheel which locates on the ground floor.
