Kofukuji is one of many temples in Nagasaki’s Teramachi (temple town) at the foot of a steep hill. It was built in 1620 as the first temple of the Obaku sect or Ōbaku-shū the youngest of the three schools within Japanese Zen Buddhism

Kofukuji is a 5-10 minute walk from the “Kokaido-mae” tram stop near the Meganebashi.
