THIS is how to visit Arashiyama [Gardens, Train, Bamboo 2022]

So many firsts in this vlog! First bamboo grove, Japanese gardens, matcha tea, boxed lunches! We start SUPER early because we heard the Arashiyama bamboo grove gets really crowded, but maybe we arrived TOO early.

We also visit the town of Arashiyama itself, enjoy views from the bridge, and eat some delicious lunch before heading to Sogochi Garden, which is beautiful! From there, we take a little talked about entrance that drops us into maybe the most famous section of the bamboo grove. After that, we visit the Okochi Sanso Villa and Gardens – which again are beautiful! While there, we try matcha tea for the first time (it’s included in the cost of admission!). After the tea, we take the Sagano Romantic train, which follows a river through a valley and the scenery is stunning!
