  1. thankyou Don for the video as you know I am from NSW north of Sydney so far we are ok from the fires but we are getting a lot a smoke not very pleasant, at the moment the large fires r still burning out of control until we get some decent rain have not had any rain at our place for months.

  2. I’m in Sydney. Major cities are fine. Areas affected are rural or small
coastal towns. Australia is HUGE. Same size as the United States. Loads amounts of land is on fire but major cities we are fine x

  3. Don – a rather petty point in the circumstances down here – But 'Koalas are not bears' ! They are marsupials. πŸŒ·πŸŒ·πŸ˜€
I live 300 kms from the nearest major fires and yet most of the past week we have not been able to go outside to work for any length of time because of dense smoke.

    Best wishes to your stepfather.

  4. Hope your stepdad is ok and soon recovers from the sugery. My heart bleeds for the people in Australia whose lives have been devastated also the wildlife.

  5. Noordam was scheduled into Eden late last week. Looked out my bedroom window and saw it sail into my home port of Burnie.

  6. Koalas by instinct head up trees. These fires have been crowning i.e. The fire is moving through treetops. People have said they have heard Koalas screaming as they are burned alive. Heartbreaking.

  7. I read somewhere that Australian government has done this on purpose for fracking purpose.

  8. Thanks again DonπŸ™πŸ» prayers for a speedy recovery for stepdad, thanks again to all from around the world, that are helping our firefighters , in their time of need, our country greatly appreciates all your efforts and well wishes’ also thank you to the people πŸ™πŸ» 🐨who have generously donated to all of the organisations, to help us rebuild.πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜’πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ’”

  9. As an Aussie myself… I am so angry with the governments here. The problem is that if the governments had responded when this catastrophe was forecast months ago then they would have been seen to implicitly accept that β€œclimate change” is real. Thus the low key response, prime minister holidaying in Hawaii, Environment Minister missing in action, etc. surely as a nation we can come together and forget about debating climate change and just get stuck in and throw (belated) resources at this problem. As it is, Australia is now forecast to lose many billions of dollars now and into the future due to lost infrastructure. What a disgrace!

  10. the world could use a massive dose of love, good works, well-wishes, and prayers. big hugs to you, your family and everyone in need of lovies. God Bless

  11. Hello from the Aussie capital.. Canberra. 40 deg c forecasted here tomorrow. When it is safe to do so places like Eden NSW are going to needΒ  to see the passengers return. Please keep at the cruise lines to get these places back on the cruising maps ASAP.

  12. They are only at the middle of their summer, more hot weather to come for them. So glad we decided to emigrate to Canada and not Australia, way too hot. Feel bad for them all.

  13. If you want to help there are some offical sites you can give at. Be careful of non-official sites as there have been some scam fundraisers.

To donate to people affected you can do so at the Red Cross Australia (https://www.redcross.org.au/campaigns/disaster-relief-and-recovery-donate).

To donate to fire fighters there are state sites, NSW (https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/volunteer/support-your-local-brigade), Victoria CFA (https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/donate1), South Australia CSF (https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/site/home/how_you_can_help.jsp) and Western Australia (https://www.dfes.wa.gov.au/contactus/Pages/Donations.aspx). The NSW Rural Fire Service has received record donations in the last month so consider giving to some of the smaller states like SA which includes those fighting the Kangaroo Island fires.

To donate to animal welfare you can donate to the RSPCA (https://bushfires.rspca.org.au/), World Wildlife Fund (https://www.wwf.org.au/get-involved/bushfire-emergency#gs.qwdl6b) or WIRES (https://www.wires.org.au/donate/online%E2%81%A3). These organisations are funding search and rescue for injured and endangered wildlife, veterinary care and recruiting, training and providing services for volunteers who will care for these animals until they are well enough to be released back into the wild.

  14. Why would they go near Australia with wild fires. Remember volcano erupting in New Zealand and 17 people killed and numerous people injured.

  15. Thank you from Australia Don, thank you so much for your prayers, it is heartbreaking to see the destruction, the fires are still raging the loss of the poor animals is just devastating! We are praying for rain!
Hope your stepdad is still doing well! β€οΈπŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

  16. Thank you Don πŸ˜” these fires effect us all. The lives lost, the homes and businesses and our precious, unique wildlife loses is incomprehensible and as Aussies this is so devastating. MickieG Adelaide Sth Australia

  17. enjoyed this vlog. I am glad you also are sending your prayers and well wish to Australia. It was very kind and sweet of you.

  18. It is terrible Don. Huge areas of New South Wales and Victoria have been decimated , At least 23 people have died including firefighters and whole, small towns have been destroyed. We are praying for 4 or 5 days of rain but it’s not scheduled to come any time soon.

  19. A big thank you goes to all of your lovely subscribers who have sent their thoughts and prayers to all of those people and wildlife affected by the fires.

  20. The real shame of these fires is that many are suspected arson which can’t be investigated until the fires are out and cooled. Many prayers from the USA for the safety of the people of Australia. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
