The lack of modernity makes it charming, quiet, serene and private, however it seems to be more a city from the country side than an island. Really wishing to visit. I enjoyed the summer walks and now the Autumn ones! Very nice!
Lots of beautiful old buildings and spectacular manicured building ruins. Nice medieval gated community.

People that visit in the summertime always ask us Gotland residents what we do in the winter, well, this is what we do in the Fall, anyway, we take walks in the old town without all the tourists, and enjoy/endure the rain. 💕
