  1. Financial is definitely the main factor. You need to have a sense of security before you can feel confident to have a family. With the pandemic and inflation, this eats away at the security and rising rent costs makes it harder to afford housing. It is made worse by the fact that maternity leave isn't mandated in the US, so women put their jobs at risk for having children and a one income household already creates a lot of problems in the modern era. You also have things like unstable gig work or little to no job security. It takes much longer for people to achieve that level of security where they are comfortable to even have a permanent partner much less kids.

I would say another major factor is that people are trying to marry out of love rather than necessity in the modern age too. People are more picky with their partners compared to the past where someone would fix two people together out of economic or political reasons and you'd be stuck with it.

  2. Not that any woman wants to marry me. But I'm afraid to have kids as so much to worry about. Allergies, racism, crime, bullying, peer pressure, social media, so much can go wrong.

  3. I dont have kids but want them only with the right person. I am realizing having my own family and kids is the missing part of my life or the gap that i need to close to have a more fulfilling life.

  4. This phenomenon isn't solely isolated to men. Women are choosing to remain childless in droves as well, but for differing reasons. Women have the innate, biological drive to their maternal nature, especially as their reproductive window gets closer to shutting. Men don't really have to worry about this, they could basically be 80 and still get it done, so it's easy to forgo. I think a lot of men will probably have a change of heart as they get older and find themselves in a situation where they are ready to raise a kid, but they're probably just looking to use their youth as a period to have fun.

  5. It’s hard to use protection during sex but kids are just annoying and expensive

  6. I think that's what American men aspire too. Stay away from resposibility and play video games. Please stop just blaming American women, they are raised by American men.

  7. It’s already hard enough to keep your lover. Add some kids in there, rising inflation and lifestyle pressure. Why would you want to bring kids into a world like this?

  8. To those women who wants to have kids, reach out to me. Im a healthy man looking for a stable relationship. AND I want kids!

  9. All I can say is that from a woman's perspective, I've had trouble getting pregnant naturally. So, when adding up the cost of not just child birth & child care I also have to add in fertility treatments which are not only expensive, but physically and emotionally taxing. In this economy it doesn't seem worth it. That's one of the things that the intro to Idiocracy touches on, because the "idiots" get pregnant easily whereas the educated couple needed help. And why go through all this trouble to have a kid that you don't even get to raise really, because you have to put them in daycare?

  10. according to studies and statistics more than 80% of divorces are initiated by wamen. Statistics and facts are not feelings

  11. I think high divorce rate mainly happens for people who marry young. I'm in my 30s and it's looking like I won't be having kids. Of course I would like one, but it's not up to me to decide. The hard part is finding a partner first who also wants to and many women now don't, even in Asian countries.

  12. Married to such a guy and ended up that he wanna “pursue” love with another woman and left. Nowadays less and less men wanna take the responsibilities.

  13. CORRECTION: First World developed nations don't want children as they are financially impeding on the enjoyment of the individual. Capitalism means maximizing the full experience of freedom and choice children limit those choices.

  14. One reason why men don't want children…..the legal system usually favors the women in a divorce and therefore, if the men wants to see their children…..it will be based on some kind of agreement. Moreover, child support usually comes from the men as well. Men are usually on the losing end of the stick.

  15. Men today are THINKING before having children- good for them. Smart men are opting out of having children. It is good that people are THINKING about this. So many people pop out children & they are UNQUALIFIED to be parents-look at the deleterious results of this. Have children if you are educated, make six figures, & be emotionally stable-also if one going to have children, wait until one is socioeconomically stable & in one's 30s. I am 68 years old & I knew I never wanted children & don't regret it. Children are expensive & they tie you down. I didn't want that.

  16. Who wants to have children when they are doomed to be wage slaves or cannon fodder?
I love Idiocracy so much. I wish people would score more Darwin Awards and make room for the geniuses.
14:10 Is it happening? Sometimes you can research papers that say "Fertility and IQ."

  17. I am in my 40s. I earn a very comfortable living. I eat at the restaurants I want to eat at. I travel about once a month. I get drunk
on the weekends and sleep in until whenever I want. My life is awesome and wouldn’t want it any other way

  18. I want to have kids, but I want to try adopting instead of having my own biological child. I don't care what my parents or other people say, I want to help 1-3 less fortunate children who didn't have the best biological parents.

  19. I was not interested in children but my wife insisted. She comes from an immigrant community where children are highly valued.

  20. Andrew: "I wanna push back on the divorce statistic. If a couple divorces after 37 years of marriage, is that really a failed marriage though?"

    Yes Andrew. Yes it is.

  21. In short the internet and technology has sped up inflation and cost of living. It's affected all aspects of life.

  22. Liberal men don't want to have kids………… its the opposite for conservatives. This survey seems bias 18K from where???

  23. Cut the BS and stop being a simp, a lot of the problem is modern women entitlement. Men have improved vastly in the last few decades to become more involved in the households and women have gotten worse and worse. Women used to know how to cook and clean, now you go talk to one, how many of them actually have repertoire of a few dishes?

  24. They hate themselves and they make sure no other rats looking like himself running around ruining this perfect world?

  25. First off…I love watching you guys. You are not only entertaining but also informative.

Coming from a middle-aged (40) female perspective, I think in general both men and women in these current times just want to live free from the obligations of having children. People want to enjoy themselves after a long day of work and not have to worry about attending to another little human being they are obligated to take care of. I think it's better to not bring children into this world than to have them raised in an unhealthy household. Many relationships not only break because of finances but also because the pressure of having the responsibility of another human being can cause a lot of strain on a relationship. I give props to people who decide not to have children because they know and feel they are not ready to have them.

  26. Investing in crypto now should be in every wise individuals list, in some months time you'll be ecstatic with the decision you made today.
