  1. “Three Rivers Stadium” — get it? 😂 My grandson would have stopped at the excavator right after you parked and we would have been good all day! I can do without the shops and restaurants, but love the history and museums. Hate the traffic. Loved the incline! Thanks!

  2. I really look forward to your videos'. I enjoy you guys enjoying each other. And it adds knowing that you all are believers. Thanks for the positive entertainment. As a grandpa, just saying, enjoy those kiddos (and it's obvious that you do) because one day you'll blink. It's great that you have all these videos to relive these times with your kids and eventually with your grandkids.

  3. When were you guys in Pittsburgh? My wife and I did a random day trip there from NE Ohio. Crossing the bridge from the east side of PA into Pittsburgh was breath taking!

  4. Pittsburg was part of the Rust Belt. When the steels mills shut down and moved out of the country the mills were left to rust. It looked so ugly but now the cities have been cleaned up and building turned residential.

  5. Great tour of my favorite city! Terrific food and so much going on to see! Sorry you missed the bicycle museum – but great water tour.

  6. Doesn't that Vacum truck look like it came from a Back to the future movie???
    You should hear it workin!!

  7. We lived in Erie, PA for 30 years and raised our children there. We took many trips to Pittsburgh to show them the culture and history.

  8. Marissa….. by boat is the reason these big cities exist in every country in the world…. All goods and people moved by boat when possible and congregated at the confluence of said waterways…. Every major city in the world…. With modern transportation we have evolved tremendously,,,,, Rail, Truck, Airplanes and allowed cities to exist in non waterway areas. By and large tho waterways is how we grew

  9. From Pittsburgh myself……it was bad growing up with all the pollution. Steel was big when I was a kid all over the area. I definitely do not consider Pittsburgh a big city, but its hectic. Best way to see the city is by bicycle… we have incredible bike trails with most right on the rivers. Also heading 45 minutes east you can check out the Laurel Mountains, beautiful area too.

I spent 50 years in the area but in 2018 I out of the blue broke my neck and life changed. Suddenly, all the hustle and bustle and noise, the stimulation got to me. I moved 2 hours North to Erie County PA nesr Lake Erie just lthis last July to live a more quiet, rural, simpler life. I sold my big, brand new home down in Pittsburgh and am building a very simple modular home here with my husband and 4 youngest kids who are still in the home. My second oldest who will be 24 in just a few days will be building with us next door on raw land we bought. Where we are at now is nothing like Pitfsburgh but it's a very natural type area, rugged once the major snow hits but beautuful too. Love PA as we have so much to enjoy here.

I think it's so m6eat to see so many people visiting my old city, I think it's one of the most wonderful places on earth. I spent decades visiting all the sites and grew up in Kennywood Park, a very traditional amusement park that is rich in history.

  10. I was born 50 miles from Pittsburg near Uniontown Pa.Pittsburgh back in the day was named the Smokey City ……Because of all the Steel Mills !

  11. If you're still in PA, you need to check out Millersburg. It is located about 30 miles north of Harrisburg along the Susquehanna River. They are famous for having the oldest operating ferryboat, that transports cars across the river at its widest point. I think they might have already have taken them out of the river for the winter, but you can get close and personal with them where they are parked for the winter. Millersburg also has quite a few awesome restaurants that feature PA Dutch style food.

  12. I visited Pittsburg about 11 years ago. Visited the same places you did. Enjoyed the Incline Museum. Remember leaving a small restaurant as the baseball game was getting out and had to move out of the way as the crowds were taking over the streets and and sidewalks heading home. Great city to walk about. One of the best places was an old church that was converted into a restaurant and brewery. It was on the other side of the Allegany River from the city. Great memories and met some great friends there.

  13. So excited to see that yinz were in my hometown. You did an amazing job showcasing this beautiful city!! I hope yinz enjoyed your time here.

  14. As you guys travel the states in the east, or even northern states, I always notice how green they are, usually with lots of trees and open areas. I live in Southern California where everything you see are buildings, shopping centers and homes with some trees and parks. We do have some beautiful areas, but not many that I know of.

From what little I’ve seen of Pensilvania through others, it looks like a beautiful state. The view from the top of the incline you road looked awesome with the rivers, scenery and buildings in the background. I wasn’t aware Pennsylvania had more bridges than anywhere else, even Venice. If I had a choice to see the bridge’s of Pennsylvania or Venice, I wonder which place I’d go?

Thank you guys for allowing us to be with your family as you travel. I enjoy watching your videos and seeing locations through your eyes. You guys are a great family to travel with. Thanks! Oh, are the couple you’re with walking encyclopedias?

  15. From the burgh! Nice video of my hometown, thank you!! I'm not there anymore but it will always be where my heart is. 💙

  16. So, Pittsburgh is THE hardest city to navigate. Did you guys have any problems? You did "all things Pittsburgh " (I live an hr. north)

  17. I was hoping you had gone to the Carnegie natural history museum …Its off the charts cool ..And everyone knows kids love dinosaurs

  18. Duquesne is pronounced Du- kane. 😉 The furnace at Station Square is a Bessemer Converter, coverting pig iron into steel. Blast furnaces turn iron ore into pig iron. Carrie Furnace is a blast furnace.

  19. Raccoon Creek State Park Camp Grounds is closer to Pittsburgh the the place you stayed. It is about 7 miles from the airport.

  20. Pierogis & Haluski is also a popular items to try while visiting Pittsburgh too. There's Whollys in the Strip, the famous big fish sandwich. There's Old Harmony, Trax Farm, Mingo Park to see the covered bridge. Oh I hope you do come back to Pittsburgh to actually get a better impression. The trains are a joy to see also along with the Santa's from around the world. The three rivers Alleghany, Monongahela, form the Ohio River. I wanted to add that.

  21. Pennsylvania born…had relatives who lived in Pittsburgh and still have college friends (Penn State) who call the 'burgh home.
Duquesne….do-KANE. Also, most amazing view is to fly into Pittsburgh then drive from the airport to the city. You head through the Ft Pitt Tunnel and Pittsburgh just appears out of nowhere before you! University of Pittsburgh plays in the Steelers Stadium, Heinz Field (no one from PA will ever call it by it's new name)

  22. Marissa, I love the ear popping technique. Only the mountain living people do that. I grew up in MA going to NH all the time. Open your mouth wide to pop your ears. I've been to Pittsburgh but only for a quick drive through. Great video!

  23. Yes, there is art and museums in big cities, but that is not in everyone’s bailiwick. So, it isn’t necessarily a draw to a big city, but I get what she was trying to say. Great video, I have never been to Pittsburgh, and I must say, it looks better than I have heard it to be. I will have to visit.

  24. Yep, we had console TVs growing up. We had phones at my great grandfathers that had rotary dial, don’t know if you were too young to remember those. You may remember the push button digital handsets.

  25. Nice to know you can move around downtown without getting mugged. You can’t do that in Philadelphia, I lived there for 3 yrs. It sucked. Everyone asked where I was from…I said south Philly (I am from KY). LOL. Too many gangs in Philly.

  26. I live about 1/2 hour north of Pittsburgh in Butler. I also own a tattoo shop about 10-15 min north of the city boundary in Gibsonia.

  27. Awesome video!!! I was at that Pirate game you showed highlights of. Darryl Ward was the first player ever to hit the river on the fly. Others bounced it in before. He hit it right over my head as I was in the right field seats right above the Clemente Wall.
