NIKKO, JAPAN | Places to Visit, What to Eat & Ryokan Stay 🇯🇵🍂

Taking you with me on a 2-day healing trip to Nikko, Japan, a small city in the mountains located 144 kilometres up north of Tokyo, and is home to some of Japan’s most enchanting nature trails, waterfalls, hot springs, zen gardens and shrines.

The fact that Nikko is located further up north means that Autumn begins earlier here. We’ll start to see Autumn foliage since mid-October, making Nikko a scenic place to visit during this time. One of the biggest highlights of this town are “The Shrines and Temples of Nikkō”, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it comprises of 103 buildings or structures and the natural scenery that is around it. Toshogu Shrine was undeniably one of the most lavishly decorated shrines I have ever come across in Japan, from its wooden carvings, vibrant colours and hints of gold.

Although what I’ve filmed would not be able to capture the true beauty of this town fully, in this vlog, I hope to show you some things to do/places to visit/eat in Nikko (not only in Autumn, but throughout the whole year), as well as places to view the beautiful Autumn Foliage.
