Living in Adelaide. This was taken precovid so some of it has changed with new buildings- central market is currently under reconstruction, the sculpture out the front of art gallery is gone. It is a clean city, easy to get around. Summers hot and dry from January to March, but can be mild weather through to April. Currently we are experiencing a wet spring expected into summer. I work for a national tour company Journey Beyond that operates the trains The Ghan and Indian Pacific and Adelaide is the hub terminal. Happy to answer any questions as Iβm born n raised south Australian. Thanks for showing our city – Iβm immensely proud of it and canβt wait to welcome your family.
Seems to be lots of comments about adelaide being dry. That's probably true in the sense that it doesn't rain much but I'm from WA and I have memories of Adelaide being humid.
Zoo has Panda's. Birdwood has the national motor museum. Monarto Australia biggest open range zoo. Alot to see.
Actually itβs not. This is the only place the Torrens is open air & known to locals as Torrens Lake. The rest of it is a filthy stormwater drain full of rubbish at the western end. It drains towards Glenelg whets the gates are opened periodically to let the water put. Itβs a black polluted sludge. Not clean at all.
Visited Adelaide and SA about a month ago. Central markets are amazing
Make sure you go to Hahndorf in the Hills, around 20-25 mins outside the city. Its a small German-inspired village with a lot a wonderful places to eat authentic german style food and beers. Enjoy π
Mate, I'm 61 and still haven't been there yet.
SSSSSh….don't tell everyone, it's a secret.
Adelaide aka the city of churches βͺοΈ
Local here. Interesting to see Americans visit us. It's a bloody long way.
All our best produce is exported. We get the seconds. The seconds are still pretty good, though.
Funny watching this as someone from Adelaide (Radelaide we like to say haha) We really do take it for granted sometimes. Seeing how you react some some of the most basic things we get to experience every day, love it.
Compared to many other cities it is quite a clean city not perfect but definitely up there.
Weather – in winter its often cold and raining (doesn't snow) and in summer it can get to as hot as 46C so (114F for you yanks) one summer it was so hot the roads were getting soft and the heavy buses were causing the roads to warp, which you can still see in some areas to this day.
Adelaide is one of the few cities where if you have to drive through it to get to the other side its really not too bad. whereas some cities you tend to avoid going straight through because they are so busy.
South Australians love and take pride in our local produce and we have some of the best farming land in the world and some of the best wine regions also, travelling europe and you see wines from "Barossa Valley" on top of their wine lists regularly and think to myself hey thats only 25min drive from my home haha.
Some of the strange cars you point out I forget many countries don't have them I believe its because we do have a big Japanese influence on our car market here and Toyotas are one of the best selling brands here. The vans you pointed out near the botanical gardens at 14:41 are are called the Toyota HiAce.
At the end of the video he goes to Glenelg. fun fact: the word is a palindrome and spells the same forward as it does backward π
You should do a react video to watching what the AFL (Australian Football League) is. Its our countries most popular sport and is one of the most physical sports in the world, they recently have been building up the womens league and some of the women put blokes from other sports to shame with how physical it gets.
I was born in Tasmania but I've lived in Adelaide for over 40 years. It's a fantastic place to live, apart from the summers, sometimes…lol
I've been to every major city except Perth and While Adelaide definitely isn't a Melbourne or a Sydney it has a lot to offer, and some of the appeal is that it ISN'T a huge city.
Fortunately Adelaide is NOT tropical. We have a Mediterranean Climate – I can't stand the humidity and thankfully we get mercifully little of it. π
This video is a few years old now and much has changed – there are numerous more recent walk-throughs of Adelaide on YouTube – worth checking out to those interested π
I love Adelaide! The place is perfect for me. Not too big and not too small!
Left Adelaide to get a lifestyle on GOLD COAST, biggest mistake ever. Adelaide is gorgeous,
I'm South Australian born and bred, I love my city it's better than most people think.
Our seasons are opposite to yours.
great stuff, I post some videos of Brighton and Seacliff and Goolwa on my Youtube channel.
Awesome to see a video on my city of birth π

Adelaide is definitely wine country, some of my relatives recently went on a week trip to Claire valley, they didn't even get to see half the wineries in the area there's that many! (and that's just Claire valley, lets not forget the numerous other wine regions here)
Glenelg, You can Spell it backwards. Holdfast Bay. Born in Glenelg. The State of South Australia has about 1.8 Million Folks. The State is bigger than Texas. Fifty Percent larger. Adelaide City is a mix of Buffalo, without the snow, Scottsdale and Savannah. The Downtown area within the parklands, is not that populated. Maybe 50 thousand. Seems it offers a bit of everything. Come for a Holiday, you will enjoy. Spend some money, and take a drive around. Cheers.
No it's not deceptive. It is actually that clean.
Not to compare, but $10.60 is expensive I think by Australian standards.
The equivalent in Melb is currently $9.40 (would have been about $8.50 when this was filmed), and Melbourne covers a much bigger area than Adelaide.
The parts that look a bit haggard are the poorest suburbs. Like any other big city.
Adelaide has had more rain than usual this year. Average temp in winter 14 degrees -17. Summer at its hottest average approx 33. Occasionally adelaide gets 40-42 degrees but the last years have not been to bad. I live rural now 3.5 hours away from adelaide. We had a summer that was not overly hot. The weather is not standard anymore.
One place that does indeed need recognition is Mount Gambier in South Australia. Our population is 29K and we are the second biggest town in south Australia. Mount Gambier has lots to offer such as the cave gardens and the blue lake we have. The centenary tower and valley lakes are also beautiful places.
Hey IWrocker! I am so glad to hear you say you would love to expore my home town! I am hoping to move back in the new year, so if you ever get over here have to let us Aussies know so we can show you a great time. The weather is a bit mediterranean and a bit arid. In summer it can get roasting hot and its a dry heat. Winters can get a hard frost but snow isnt very common but can happen in the Hills. Mostly its just rains. The markets are amazing and we have a farmers market where you can buy direct from growers. I love my hometown so am looking forward to being able to get back there. Thanks for showcasing my home town!
Love your attitude man. If you come to Adelaide, we'll look after you. Well spotted on the Patriot…JEEPs are huge here. You know your cars and plants, you'd fit right in. The joke about Adelaideans is that's it's the only place you'll see a guy doing a burnout whilst drinking a Shiraz.
Adelaide is where you want teenagers to vandalize your cars with terrible laws to hold them accountable.
They guy with the deep voice, trust him about his 21yr old tourist knowledge about Australia including states he has never been to.
I'm born and bred here. It's the coast and beaches that are some of the best and cleanest in the world, well kept secret, well was….
If ur tryna find the weather for somewhere, Wikipedia has, for most places (especially cities), monthly climate averages. It's not a perfect depiction, with Adelaide being an example due to La Nina and IOD but it's good enough
Hello from Adelaide. I'm a painter I spotted my own work before 2:20
Yep, it's a great place to live ……Everything is so close to getting around compared to other states. Also Very Clean…… love my home State .
can get to 40 last time i was ther 3 days over 40 bavj in 2014
I live in Adelaide and the weather is kind of weird. Like one day is pouring down rain the next it's sunny. But it can get pretty hot but that's really rare.
Hey this is where Im from!
fun Adelaide fact from someone born and raised in Adelaide! why have the highest rate of meth production per capita in all of Australia!
Radelaide is best
Glenelg beach not semaphore beach
From Adelaide best place in the world
