At the beginning of autumn, we hiked up Mt. Nishihotaka, which straddles Nagano and Gifu Prefectures in Japan, taking about 6 hours for a round trip.
Mt. Nishihotaka has an altitude of 2,909 meters and it belongs to the Northern Japan Alps.
In order to start hiking early in the morning, we went to a parking lot near the trailhead and car camped the day before hiking.
