THE BRAVEST WWII HERO WHAT DID HE DO? #shorts

The 77th anniversary of the Battle of Okinawa has come and gone, but one hero and Medal of Honor recipient was a standout. He will always be remembered for his incredible bravery. A selfless WWII hero, if there ever was one.

Desmond Doss was a conscientious objector not permitted to carry a firearm but decided to enlist in the army as a combat medic, anyway.

In the darkness of night, May 1945, Doss single-handedly lowered from Japanese-infested Hacksaw Ridge wounded and dying soldiers down a cliff to safety. With no firearm to protect him, he managed to save nearly 100 imperiled men.

An act of extreme bravery for which he was given the richly deserved Medal of Honor.

  1. You are incorrect to say "He was not PERMITTED to carry a firearm." By enlisting and calling himself a Conscientious Objector it means he CHOOSE not to carry a weapon. It was strictly voluntary and he could have changed his mind at anytime.

Still had balls of steel for what he did that day.
