Thanks to our sweet connections we were allowed to go to Chotaro Hanten in Shizuoka which is known for having some of THE best steamed buns in Japan. Aka Baozi, aka Nikuman. What’s more is that we actually got to step back into the kitchen and try our hand at making our own delicious steamed pork buns! These things are a must try when you visit Japan. And while you can typically find nikuman at any conbini, you WILL NOT find any better steamed buns for the price than at Chotaro Hanten. It is a pain to get to, but if you are planning a trip out to Mt. Fuji and have a car, I’d recommend the detour to chow down on these bad boys!
