Do you struggle to create a great photo book on vacations? Getting that one phenomenal image is often not realistic. Professional photographers take days or even weeks waiting for the right weather and light conditions to get the perfect shot of iconic places. That’s not manageable for our (too) brief vacations. So instead of getting that one great shot, let’s focus on getting a whole series of photos that describe our journey from start to finish. I’m going to show you how I think about documenting my travels, in a way that any amateur shutter-bug can recreate. 15 great photos do add up to one great one, you can count on that. Just remember that every step of the vacation is as important as the rest. It doesn’t have to be epic, it just has to be meaningful to you, and should help you recreate the story of your trip for your friends and family. I’ll use my Google Pixel smart phone to show you that you don’t need professional photography gear to bring back a beautiful record of your travels. We’re going to Istanbul, Turkey, and you’re coming with us.
