Drive up to the Cadillac Mountain, one of the most popular spots of one of the most popular national parks of the nation.

At an altitude of 1530 feet (466 meters), this is the highest peak on the Atlantic coast of the Americas, north of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Watching sunrise is the most popular thing to do from here. You see the first sunrise of the country from October 7 to March 6. Other popular activities are birding and stargazing. On the way there are several overlooks. People also gather to view the sunrise from one of them. You need a national park permit, just like any other national park. In addition, to use this road, you need a day reservation. This is to avoid over-crowding, which is really a big problem at the peak. People also bike to the summit. It is also possible to hike to the summit.

Cadillac Summit Road from park Loop Road is the only road to the summit. It is not very wide. Speed limit is 25 mph (40 km/h) with speed advisory of 15 mph (24 km/h) at hairpin bends. RVs and trailers are not allowed.

  1. John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
