I tried using a ferry to go from Osaka to Fukuoka. It may seem like a waste of time to go by boat for 12 hours to get there in a few hours on the Shinkansen, but you can use your time efficiently because it runs in the middle of the night and arrives at 8:30 in the morning. Moreover, you can get there for less than half the price of the Shinkansen, so please come on board.
