I searched for foreign tour groups visiting one of the most touristy places in Tokyo – ASAKUSA. I found Melonpan with Vanila Ice Cream instead.

  1. Yay!, you found a door bell. It looks like it has a screw on the back…battery? Still missing Japan. I’ve been on the MOFA website, what an ordeal. Waiting for my letter of invitation from my son. In the meantime, enjoying your videos. Thanks for your hard work. * schedule changes usually occur for airlines in October(at least for the one I work for). So, they’ve probably added the usual flights and if needed can reduce them.

  2. Why should japan limit the reopening to certain countries? Why not open it to everyone and maybe still limit the daily entries? Imo kinda a racist behaviour to limit tourism to selected countries.

  3. It will be interesting to see how it goes with tourism in Japan. As you know the workers in the northern hemisphere have just finished their summer holidays and generally don't take long trips during the autumn and winter. Inflation, mortgage rate hikes and fears of a recession may also cause others not to travel. On the other hand, many of the holiday areas in Spain experienced a greater number of tourists this season than in 2019.

  4. On Sept. 20, my tour group of 20 from Hawaii will be @Ameyoko in the morning!

  5. I used to have an annual family holiday to Japan, heading to rural towns away from the tourist hotspots mostly. I'm right on the verge of cancelling my December 2022 bookings and going to a country that actually wants me.

It will be many years before I spend another cent in Japan now, and that makes me sad.

  6. There are many tourists from China or Korea. So there might be more foreigners than you think.

  7. Lol, I love the PVG interrupted thought moment around 46 min. I can be prone to those too. Mumma Susan censored my super thanks Re seasonal flu.
Jhon has seen more ghosts on this stream than tour groups

  8. Just found a $1500 6 day group tour Tokyo to Takayama and Kyoto, most days brings you to the area and then provides you hours of free time to explore around. This isnt bad for peeps like me who doesnt like planning and likes to follow everyone around. Ill pay you bring me here and there. Hehehe

  9. In 2019 I got a melonpan from the same store and ate it sitting exactly where you sat, may this stuff come back soon!

  10. I saw MATCHA CREAM on that melonpan…. Now I am longing for Japan even more.

  11. 53:51 john didn't found any tour group but found a ghost from ww2, better 🤣 that wasn't a statue, i saw him walking towards the shop

  12. The Japanese embassy here in the Philippines has a list of accredited tourist agencies that process visas and have tour packages. It has itineraries and everything. I do wonder if you're allowed to explore after the tour activities. However, I haven't really seen any tour groups. I tried looking on YouTube in case anyone posted anything, but am not lucky. Same on Twitter. I'm half tempted to take a tour just to see if it actually works, but it's priced more than what I am willing to spend.

  13. Love you John ❤️
Thank u so much for all the awesome work and dedication you put into your channel 🙏

  14. Damn, I was here around lunch time last Thursday with my tour group, shame couldn't run into you then! Also had an ice-cream melonpan for lunch since I wasn't too hungry; it was so good! My group planned the trip to attend the Anisama concert over the weekend, it was a lot of fun! Hope the country opens up soon though, I'd love to travel around for longer next time…

  15. We gave up visiting japan. Off to the south pacific instead, maybe we will get our dream trip to japan next October. Fingers crossed

  16. I’m only going once they allow total freedom of booking and travel. I don’t like guided tours or travel agencies.

  17. Wish I had watched this live. I would have told you to go to the back of the temple. That's where all the tour buses park. That's where we got our first experience in Asakusa.
