The strengths of LA exist with it's wonderful topography and weather coupled with a robustly built environment and of course let us not forget the crazy level of wealth that exist there. Heady place for sure in spite of the homeless.
Collectively, Chicago's is still the best. It has been fortunate to have had so many new/newer buildings, while each mostly, relatively unique in profile, without looking to Star Warsish, collectively complimenting the whole. Only San Fran and to some extent NY, has been able to pull this off. Even Globally, Chicago's is stellar. LA's missing great opportunities by not demanding that developers work more on classier, collectively complimentary buildings.
