Ishigaki Island is one of the most popular scuba diving locations in Japan. The entire reason I came down to Ishigaki was because I heard about manta scramble (manta point) – An area of coral reef where thousands of feeder fish gobble up skin and gill parasites on giant manta rays as they migrate.

Hey everyone, I'm sorry for the little rant there at the end, and I don't mean to give you some vague "do better" speech. My goal is to spread awareness and hopefully spark a conversation that provides more information to fellow travelers. As I mention in the video, I hope this channel inspires you to "travel deeper" and really care about the places we visit – beyond an Instagram photo or backpacker trail – I have seen way too many "travel vlogs" these days who pass through places with no respect or appreciation for local cultures.
Amazing,Beautifull video as usual.for when à visit of Paris ? You are welcome 😉
Very good Gareth, getting even better. What camera do you use and you do all the editing by yourself?! Because I think you're pretty fast. I'm curious about that, about camera, lens, editing program, some tips of how you get to improve?! If you can, please tell me, I'm curious! Ganbatte! P.s I used to live near Kayama Station in the middle of nowhere haha but right next to the station has a Ramen restaurant with the best miso Ramen I've ever had in Japan, if you pass by someday don't miss it!
great dive video! I just started making videos and I love the style of this, but I really love how you have passion for the beauty around you. Keep it up
Have you ever peed during scuba diving? Will you do a video where you do that please? Or there's just here an hidden peeing scene?
Hey @Gareth Leonard . Please We wants Travel Deeper – Morocco
Lol you're driving 😁 I've been watching your videos for an hour now. They're very entertaining. Keep up the great work, I've subscribed.
When can you see the manta rays??
How beautiful.
Hi Gareth, I am planning to visit Japan and do this diving in May, I am worried about the water temperature. Which month have you been diving?
何で外人だらけ?
Did you record underwater with a GoPro? Or one of your nicer cameras with some type of underwater case?
Great video!
Did you need to be PADI certified to do these dives?
Another beautiful video and a good ending message, thank you. I just returned from Japan, and plan to go back multiple times to see and experience more of this amazing country. Thank you for adding to my Japan knowledge base!
Nice! Interesting video
Disappointed I didn't get to see the symbiotic relationship with the ray ?!
you should try to dive in Philippines..our coral reefs are simply amazing too 💜

Great video! I'm super jealous that you got to swim with manta rays! made a video of my experience in Ishigaki. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTAZ13P3wmY&t=8s
Thank you so much brother I'm very happy to see my country flag on your background
I very enjoyed saw your video you man
nice video, no worries on the Rant, that is my most loved technique for the classroom (at least if you are mad you have the passion to challenge and push). Corals are important (no limestone without millions of years of corals) people do not always realize that at times "bleaching" as literally been caused by bleach (a really destructive and poverty focused fishing approach), and also "blast fishing, using explosives to fish is another really destructive and poverty focused fishing approach. SCUBA takes us all to another world of underwater, seems very strange that in the distance (yet recent past) Oceanography used nets from on top of the water to try to understand what was happening beneath it, but I am part of the Jaques Cousteau generation, and loved seeing his ship again in the Steve Martin Bill Murrey movie with all the red hats.
yes
Wow galing naman,so beautiful video 🥰
Watching from Philippines, nice I like it keep safe everyone there
