My last trip to Japan my flight to Narita was cancelled, I was able to get a flight to Kansai (Osaka) instead the same day. I was happy just to get their because I knew i could rely on the Shinkansen to get me to Tokyo early the next morning and beat the connecting flight my airline had arranged (which i told them not to worry about) by hrs. I love the Shinkansen. Cheers.
It looks quite similar to some newer trains in China. Even the scenery outside the window is about the same (I'm comparing it to riding train from Shenzhen to Shanwei).

the shinkansen is on time, the german "Deutsche Bahn" (DB) isn't on time. ^^
