► Here’s a brief look at “Zunda” sweets at Hikoichi – a cozy little cafe in central Sendai, serving traditional Japanese sweets.

“Zunda” is essentially a sweet paste made from Edamame (baby soybeans), and it’s a speciality of the Tohoku region. It has a great, vibrant green color, and the taste is equally great – not too sweet and kinda “fresh”. It manages to “trick you” into thinking, you’re actually eating something healthy.

I am not a big fan of traditional Japanese sweets (I avoid regular “anko” like the plague) but Zunda is a completely different ballgame, give it a try if you get the chance. – Enjoy!

  9. Do you know what my greatest difficulty would be in living in another country initially, Thomas? The cuisine !! I'm so hard to eat out of my house !! By the way, at 0:43 is it a salty or sweet food? A hug my friend!
