Peace temples are located in Sri Lanka and around the world built by Nipponzan monks under the patronage of Nichidatsu Fujii thero of Nipponzan-Myōhōji, Japan. In 1947, he started building peace temples as shrines for world peace.
The first Peace Pagoda was built as a symbol for peace with remembrance of the victims of the Hiroshima Nagasaki atomic bombs which claimed the lives of over 150,000 people, almost all of them civilians, at the end of World War II.
It marks 77 years for this tragic bomb blast which was done in 6 and 9 August 1945. (For 2022)

By the time of his death in 1985, Peace Temples had been established in the United States, England, Australia and India. As of 2020, around 90 Peace Temples have been built around the world in Europe, Asia and the United States.
Because today this Pagoda commemorates world peace with the aftermath of the atomic bomb tragedy, about 5,000 people die a year due to generation after generation effects.
Scientists say this is a piece of meteorite that fell from the sun. In the Ramayana, Rama is struck by an arrow from Rama’s brother Lakshman during the Rama Ravana during the battle, and Sepesana orders Hanumanta to bring herbs from the Himalayas to save his life. Hanumanta forgot the names of medicinal plants and brought a piece of Himalayan forest. History says that after Lakshman was treated, his life was saved and a piece of the remaining Himalayan forest was thrown at the present site of Rumassala.
