TOKUSHIMA AWA ODORI (AWAODORI) 2018 JAPAN’S BEST DANCE FESTIVAL
We revisited my favourite festival in Japan, the Awa Odori in Tokushima, Shikoku. This matsuri is the most incredible experience. The gorgeous costumes and perfectly timed dancing, food and the sheer energy is something you have to experience.
This is a continuation of the Shikoku road trip. Here’s the playlist of that trip: https://youtu.be/CgOM8YBcTh8

What's your favourite type of dance? Mine's the running man (because I'm a total dork).
That looked so fun. If I was 20/30 years younger I would be right out there dancing with everyone. Thanks for the video.
Yes! You might as well dance ❣️
cool, tks for sharing💐💑😁!!!
Japan is amazing! Thanks for this video 🙂
Oh wow Lin that looked like so much fun! The costumes were brightly colored and some looked very elaborate. The hats the women wore were odd but still very pretty. It looked like you had a great time! Thank you for sharing it with us!
I love Obon season. In Hawaii it's during the summer months. Every week each church takes turn featuring they're dances & food booths. They Also do it on different islands like Oahu & Kauai. I'm sure the other islands have they're Obon but I know for sure about those 2 islands. 👍👍👍❤❤❤
thats a great video , it looks great fum
Great video!!!
Looks so much fun!! 😀
I loved the video. You put it together really well. It may be my phone, but the colour grading appeared to be a little dark on this one. Your transitions with the food stalls were very good.
nwo no tks , evil
Wooooow this festival looks awesome and lots of fun! love the dance moves Lin!
That looked amazing. The vivid colors of the costumes the lively dance steps looked really interesting. Loved the atmosphere and giddiness it made me feel. The food as you said was typical street food but it looked good. Thanks for sharing. JC
Wow that dance is so cool especially since it is right next to the water. Japanese people do an amazing job of capturing the festive vibe. More anime feels in this episode. Great video Lin!
Man this brings back sooo many memories!! I was fortunate enough to take part in this festival back in 2003 and I still remember having to do the dance lessons before and after work for a week leading up to it, haha. Tokushima is such a cool place, so laid back but with every convenience you could ever want. Awesome vlog Lin!
Hahah lin 🤭, you danced hahaha 👍 them smooth moves – omg the karaaage looks soo good lin.
Kanji lollipop 🍭😋😋😋😋🤭
Feels like japan has so much events 🤔 every week haha
Love the way you did the swipe effects of the food stalls. Some of those dances remind me so much of Indian folk dances. Another amazing festival 😊✌
Largest dance festival

How do get tickets for this festival – We will be there next Aug and would like to go to the festival 1 or 2 days.
