Toshichi Hot Springs has great mud baths and is one of my favorite hot springs up in Iwate. If you go before it opens around the end of April you can bathe in the outdoor baths for free, or come during the normal season and enjoy it normally! https://goo.gl/maps/J54DPFiBfAwihKam6

  1. I am German and i have no clue what aspite could mean. ???
But English words also aren't always been recognisable in Japan 😁
Thanks for make me smile when seeing the Japanese mountains for years now. Man do I have a bucket list to go when I return to Japan.

  2. Glad to hear you are on the mend Quinlan. The tours sound wonderful, I’m going to talk to my husband about this as he love snowy mountain treks ❣️

  3. congratulations for 3 years of wonderful videos in this channel. spring looks so good in north japan 😀

  4. Thank you so much for sharing this — and I hope you are feeling 100% very soon! For what it’s worth, this video certainly brightened my day. That forthcoming foraging tour sounds awesome!
Noting those lovely fiddlehead ferns you showed, I have to ask: do the mountains there host a spring time allium similar to ramps here in eastern North America?

  5. Hang in there! Allow yourself to take a break from video making and come back refreshed for awesome content!!! 💪👍

  6. What a nice spot, I'd really like to see it in person one day. And I'm glad you're starting to feel better Quinlan. Please take your time recovering

  7. First, It is so good to hear that you are feeling a bit better and getting out making films again! The Hachimantai Aspite corridor looks like a great drive to take. The snow walls are so tall! I love that Sakura are also in bloom. The foraging tour you spoke about sounds like something I would really enjoy; even getting to cook and eat your findings would be so fun! Dragon’s Eye is amazing from above in winter. Also, great drone views! I really enjoyed the different topics you covered here. What is your favorite wild veggie to eat? Thanks so much for a great vlog Q and I hope you feel 100% soon!

  8. Fantastic views. The foraging tours sound amazing. If you add cooking class afterwards I would be tempted to fly over from the UK.

  9. Good sir. I would love to join you on a foraging tour. Looking to get to Japan in October, but we'll be around Kansai/Hiroshima/Beppu. Hopefully everything opens up before then lol

  10. What are they feeding kids up there in Iwate, first Shohei Ohtani and now Roki Sasaki, two monsters. is foraging the secret?

  11. I loved the language lesson. 「○○んだね」といわれたら、賛成の意だと思ってしまうところです。The intonation is key!
Glad to hear you're feeling better! お大事にしてください。

  12. Congratulations on the 3 years of fantastic videos. Take time to breathe in that fresh mountain air to heal. Take care.

  13. This is for sure a location I would love to visit. Ive seen this place in some cycling youtubers videos and I really want to ride my bike here. Some day I would love to take a guided tour with you. Seems like a blast to travel with someone so knowledgeable. Glad youre feeling better!

  14. Masks came off in Oregon and the rates of influzenza went way up. (And syphilis – see what weird facts you hear when you know healthcare professionals?) Hope you're feeling better now!

I really want to go on a tour but it'll be a while. I'm looking forward to my next trip to Japan!

  15. Thanks Quinlan. Enjoyed the variety, the bit about the Iwate dialect, and those foraging tours sound awesome, I think a few of us have placed requests for those before.
Sorry to hear you immune system is battling some invader, I'm sure that with the good stuff from all those wild mountain vegetables you'll beat it soon, ganbatte (…although I have to say I do like how it affects your demeanour, it makes you sound a little bit more, erm, Aussie… 🤦‍♂😅)

  16. Hang in there Quinlan, we'll be here when you're feeling better. Always a treat to hear from you!

  17. Quinlan, we really love the interview with your Japanese person! The snow corridors are unreal.

  18. Glad to see you are feeling slightly better. Don't worry about the motivation, it will come back. Don't push yourself too hard and don't feel guilty about taking it slow. Love the video 😀😀😀😀😀

  19. I think the foraging tours project you're setting up sounds absolutely fantastic!! I genuinely hope that at some point in the next few years I will be able to come along and experience that for myself.

Sorry to hear you've not been feeling well Quinlan, I hope you fully recover as soon as possible. Thank you for making the videos you do. I'm very grateful for the beauty, knowledge and enjoyment they bring to my life and for properly introducing me to the wonders of Tohoku which I really didn't know much about before.

  20. Thank you for all the wonderful content! Every video you amaze us by even more breathtaking nature!
I hope you will feel 100% fit again soon. Take the time you need.

  21. That's such a relatable feeling coming off an illness. I hope things are improving for you. Thanks for sharing.

  22. It's good to hear you're on the mend Quinlan, I'm glad you're coming back to your videos as you're feeling in the right frame of mind rather than forcing them out and risking your health. Happy anniversary to the GoNorth Japan channel 🙂

  23. Quinlan, have you watched the anime movie The Summit of the Gods? Watched it today and thought you’d like it! It’s an adaptation from a manga about mountaineers. It’s an anime in French too! Animation is beautiful too, you might enjoy it. 🙂

  24. Went to Hirosaki Castle and then the Aspite Line the next day, stopping at Tamagawa Hot Spring on the way. Really great two-day trip and seeing the cherry blossoms we missed in Tokyo!

  25. I don't know how I managed to be so damn behind on your videos but this makes me sooo happy (as usual lol) but I mean in particular your plans for the tour thats EXACTLY what I was hoping for ;^; bless you, you're the best. I hope it works out. Personally I kinda gave up on the thought of being able to go to Japan in 2022 (well you spoke of 23 anyhow) so yeah 😐 but perhaps perhaps..I usually don't travel in spring but autum but we'll see…
