The area around Tsutenkaku is called “Shinsekai” (New-World) and is one of Osaka’s famous spots.
It has a retro city atmosphere and is a popular spot for tourists.
It is about a 6-minute walk from “Dobutsuen-mae Sstation” on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line and about a 3-minute walk from “Ebisucho Station”
on the Sakaisuji Line.
It is a retro and deep shopping street, such as a Kushikatsu (Deep-fried skewers) restaurant that says “Do not soak the sauce twice”,
a masterpiece theater that shows movies from 1955 to 1965, and a Fugu (Puffer fish) restaurant with a large lantern as a landmark.
Before COVID-19, it was crowded with many tourists,
There are few tourists now, and many shops are closed.

通天閣を中心とした一帯は「新世界」と言われ、大阪の名物スポットの１つです。
レトロの街の雰囲気があり観光客に人気のスポットです。
「ソースの二度づけお断り」の串カツ屋や、昭和30年代～40年代（1955～1965）の映画を上映する名画座、大きな提灯が目印のフグ料理店など、レトロでディープな商店街です。
大阪メトロ御堂筋線「動物園前駅」から徒歩約6分、堺筋線「恵美須町駅」から約３分の場所にあります。
コロナ前は多くの観光客で賑わっていましたが、
今は観光客も少なく、閉まっているお店も多かったです。
