Waterfall tour of Michigan’s UP
I’ve read that Michigan’s Upper Peninsula hosts over 200 waterfalls. While quite a few of them are nothing more than falling rapids, there are some that will surprise you. Let us introduce you to a few of the waterfalls of Michigan’s UP North.
We hope our videos inspire you to get off the couch and explore this beautiful country for yourselves.
Follow along as we discover some of the following waterfalls.
Fumee Falls, Bond Falls, Agate Falls, Presque Isle Falls, Jacob’s Falls, Canyon Falls, Scott Falls, Alger Falls, Wagner Falls, Twin Falls, Munising Falls, Miner’s Falls, Sable Falls and Tehquamenon Falls.
Leave a comment and let us know what favorite waterfalls you have visited on your travels!
Waterfalls were filmed in August, they should be more impressive in the spring with the rain and snow runoff.

Thank You.
You have given such a huge generous gift by sharing this video…It took my breath away…non stop beauty..unbelievable..I never could have even imagined such beauty..Thank you, Thank you, Thank you…I have arthritis and could never walked those trails…you brought them to me………Thank you.
Gotta see Bond Falls now! Close to my house in Ironwood! short drive, eh?
you were close to the Falls river falls in Lanse but missed them
Beautiful video. I'm planning a trip to Bond and Agate falls. Plan is to leave Antigo late Christmas day tomorrow 2021 to see them in the ice. Thank you for telling me about all the other ones. I saw the ones at Presque Isle in October on a trip to the Porcupine Mountains for my birthday.
What a delight to find your channel and treat myself to this adventure. When I was capable of driving longer distances, my son and I visited Bond, Munising, and Tahquamenon Falls. Bond remains my favorite but I discovered a couple on the video that called to me. Thank you!
Thanks for the memories, when I was young my brother and I visited about 90% of these falls…I could almost smell the fresh air!
** tanner and olsen falls aka twin falls has been closed off last summer (2021)***
New sub thank you for the information! Great video! I just woke and had a dream I was exploring water falls so now I’m here. lol
Very nice preview of “some” of the falls up here. Many other beautiful falls you may not know of. In Marquette County alone, there are 110 waterfalls to visit. Some are not spectacular, but gives you an idea of the number and variety. There is a 3 book series on the waterfalls of Michigan that anyone should review before coming up here. Living up here in the UP we have marked out 15 waterfalls to “discover” each summer within 90 miles of where we live. Truly blessed to live up here.
I have visited all of them I'm a Michigan native but now I live in South Carolina I couldn't take the cold winter no more I lived in Flint
Thank you!!
In the very warm summer of 2012, we boated along the west shore of Grand Island. We came ashore at one falls that fell off the 25 ft cliffs into Lake Superior. It was beautiful. Let's hope future generations can hold off "development" of the U.P. so we can preserve its beauty for centuries to come.
So beautiful
What about the falls on the Black River in the western UP?
For a real treat visit the Twin Falls in Munising in winter. That little trickle of water becomes an enormous ice formation. You'll need snowshoes but the trail is very manageable and there are few people. Sable Falls is in Grand Marais not Seney. Did those 168 Stairs on snowshoes. That was an adventure. Dead River falls in Marquette is not featured in this video but is one of my favorites although you'll need good hiking shoes and need to be able to navigate very primitive trails.
Our favorite is Tahquamenon falls, we go there as often as we can!
Rainbow falls are so beautiful
Don't remember the name of the falls but my cousin and I found a cave behind the falls we were kids with no fear
I would love to visit all these falls. Where is a good place to stay when touring these falls and how many days would you need? I live in the Southwest so it would be a big trek up to the UP for me. We have so much desert here I need to see green (lol).
In the future, please lower the volume of the music as the louder music drowns out your speaking. Thanks for all your hard work and sharing of great video images.
I have seen Bond Falls, Agate Falls, Munising Falls, Alger Falls and Wagner Falls at least once, and the Tahquamenon Falls several times, some via the Toonerville Trolley…They never get boring! Recently, I got to check out Jacob's Falls in the Keewenaw, but equally as beautiful are the Manganese Falls near Copper Harbor, Silver River Falls and Eagle River Falls in the town of Eagle River, as well as Ocqueoc Falls in the Lower Peninsula…There is O'Kun De Kun Falls, too! Hopefully, you will profile more of them at some point, but you now have me marking Sable, Canyon and Twin Waterfalls on my next visit to the U.P. You might also want to profile a few lighthouses and bridges, as well…I recommend the Portage Lake Bridge in Houghton, the Keystone Bridge in Ramsey, The Cut River Bridge near Epoufette, the oldest covered bridge The Whites Covered Bridge in Ionia County, the Fallasburg Covered Bridge near Lowell, the Langley Covered Bridge near Centreville and Three Rivers, the Zehnder's Holz Brucke in Frankenmuth and of course, the Ambassador Bridge, the Blue Water Bridge, the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge and the Mighty Mackinac!!!
Well worth the drive up Black River Rd. to hike the stairs and see all the waterfalls between Bessemer and Black River harbor along the Black River. Also worth the hike to see Laughing Whitefish Falls north of M-94 on the Laughing Whitefish River. (Alger County?) Many many more falls to see as well. Something a bit different? Check the Victoria Dam/impoundment/power station on the Middle branch of the Ontonagon River near the old ghost town of Victoria (being restored) in Ontonagon County. One more falls? How 'bout Kakabika Falls north of Marenisco and US 2 in Gogebic County. Just a small drop in a BIG bucket list of MI waterfalls…and more.
