The Old Town of Hội An, Vietnam is an atmospheric historic town, major trading port in the past, with Chinese, Japanese and European influences. Inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites: “Hoi An Ancient Town is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, both indigenous and foreign, that have combined to produce this unique heritage site.” (Quote from whc.unesco.org/en/list/948)

Also in the video – the nearby ruins of the Mỹ Sơn sanctuary – another UNESCO World Heritage site – religious and political capital of the Champa Kingdom, built between the 4th and 13th centuries.

    Does that town remain so clean always? Or was it some special occasion? It looks crowded yet clean! Asking because where I come from, it's not typical to see such clean streets unless someone like President Trump is visiting us! What was the occasion?

    Also, what does atmospheric town mean? I looked up on the Internet and could see few things regarding atmosphere of any town but nothing on "atmospheric town" per se! What does it imply?

    The buildings are looking worn out. Eeewww definitely not my style of a luxurious life. Saigon is so much better.

    I was born in hoi an, i never understood the obsession with westerners to this small fishing town. But i am grateful that you love it

    Unbelievable how western tourists dress so badly everywhere they go. Local people dress better. You see a lot of overweight tourists as well. That proves they eat so wrongly and are not healthy. Asians want to imitate westerner fashion for what? They actually are more decently dressed. People should follow what is better in other cultures, not the bad stuff.
