Recently, the Ukraine – Japan Association announced a drone tour for refugees from Ukraine for us. Due to the large number of applications, participants were limited to refugees receiving immigrant visa status following the start of the war. For this tour, 40 people gathered.
Nataliya Gudziy volunteered to perform live bandura music during lunch at the venue. Ukrainians listened to nostalgic songs while thinking about their hometowns.
A sunflower pin on their lapel was the mark worn by all tour participants. We asked the hotel for borscht for lunch. What we can do now as a travel agency is to guide people from Ukraine and be their “Window on Japan”. They sang the national anthem with the Ukrainian flag raised at Fukiwari Falls. We distributed aerial footage on their smartphones on the return trip by bus to Tokyo.
The smiling faces of our guests on the bus coming home differed from their somewhat lonely expressions when we left Tokyo earlier in the day. A Ukrainian guest to the Gunma Fukiwari Waterfall, who had evacuated from Ukraine looked at the marigolds and said this is a Ukrainian gold flower. A Ukrainian woman was thinking of her hometown. Over 1000 Ukrainian refugees have already arrived in Japan and we at JMT Drone Tours are here to help and welcome them.
