I found this place randomly, as it’s about a 20 minute bike ride from my house. It’s a small park, with 7 traditional style houses relocated and restored, each containing tools and artifacts from old Japan.

The park is not so crowded and it’s easy to have a picnic here, take in some history, and the best part is that the entire place is free (even the parking lot!).

So if you find yourself in this area of Saitama, and like historic Japanese things, this is a small but cool little side trip from your main destination. Did I mention its free?

I post food, places and unique things about Japan on social media. Follow any of these if you would like to see more great Japanese things.
