Here are some lesser-known things you can do in Yamanashi Prefecture.
Minobusan is only a 3.5 hour direct bus ride from Tokyo so it makes an easy weekend trip from Tokyo!

I took the highway bus near Shinjuku Station to Minobusan bus stop and decided to really dive into the culture by joining an immersive tour experience with StayJapan.

When I visit places I like to visit locally owned places, however, some things are quite hard to find or book in the rural areas since a lot of them don’t have websites.

But through this tour, they took me to places I wouldn’t be able to find and connected me with interesting locals like the amazing washi paper owner!!

Would definitely recommend their tours if you also want to dive into the area a little bit more!

Here’s the one I did:

◉ 2 day tour of Minobusan: Washi paper making & temple stay experience
(You can chose which temple you want to stay in)

Kakurinbo temple (I stayed here)

Kubonobo temple

Or you can stay longer and try more activites.
◉3 day tour of Minobu:

Kakurinbo temple

Kubonobo temple

Other temples you can stay at:
Kishinobo temple
