Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido and Japan’s fifth largest city and is famous for its spectacular winter displays.
Sapporo became world famous in 1972 when the Olympic Winter Games were held there. Today, the city is well known for its ramen, beer, and the annual snow festival held in February.
Sapporo and the surrounds of Chitose especially in the winter time is an absolute delight to visit.
With its own local delicacies like Miso Butter Corn Ramen and the famous, Hokkaido Milk, this is a paradise for all those who are foodie travellers.
The Sapporo Ice Festival is also one of those places to see but in lieu of that, there is also the Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival.
If you only have 36 hours to travel this city, this guide is a glimpse of what you can do in this marvellous city.
