A second walkthrough of the incredible “Moegi” (萌葱) Suite room at Asaba Ryokan (あさば) in the Shuzenji (修善寺) area of the Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It’s located on the upper floor and serves up a stupendous view of the iconic Noh stage and lake. We were then served welcome tea and sweets in the room. Moegi is an especially appealing choice for viewing the rare lakeside performances that occasionally takes place at the ryokan. We were fortunate to have been able to secure a reservation during a Shamisen (a traditional Japanese string instrument) performance by a living national treasure.
