Most Affordable but Slowest Shinkansen Bullet Train from Tokyo to Osaka

First class on the slowest Shinkansen Bullet Train, Kodama, is extremely comfortable. It’s absolutely worth for the extra time. If you book a special ticket called Platt Kodama, it’ll be a lot cheaper than the fastest Shinkansen, Nozomi. Seats on Nozomi and Kodama are the same.

Platt Kodama is a special discount ticket for passengers traveling by JR Tokaido Shinkansen. You must book a ticket until the day before your departure date.

Booking can be made at JR Tokai Tours branches in major JR stations, such as Tokyo Station, Shin-Osaka Station and Kyoto Station.

Also, booking can be made through JR Tokai Tours website, but it’s only available in Japanese.
