A 2 day trip through rural Japan, we experience the local trains that keeps communities connected. Old, slow and loud, these “one man” (ワンマン) trains can be found throughout the Japanese countryside and offer a glimpse of the slower life outside the larger cities. We commence in Hakodate and end finish in Chitose.

For this trip, I purchased two local train tickets (one for each day). Equivalently, this trip can be done with purchasing a JR pass, or JR Hokkaido pass.
