“Hakone Mototsumiya Shrine” is located on top of “Komagatake”. The summit of Mt. Komagatake has been the site of the mountain worship since about 2400 years ago. This shrine was built as a rear shrine of “Hakone Shrine” in 1964. Around it, there’s a huge rock called “Ba-Jou-Seki” roughly translated as “Horse riding stone”. It is believed that God descended at that location by riding on a white horse.
