Hello, Welcome to another brand new episode of Japan Lens – JAPAN TRAVEL GUIDE
Kyoto’s Arashiyama (嵐山) – Bamboo Forest, Togetsu-kyo Bridge and Tenryuji Temple
This is the show where we tell you about a place in Japan we visit…
Today we are headed to western Kyoto specifically to a place called
Arashiyama which in our opinion is a place that has the perfect blend of SIGHTSEEING, HISTORY AND BEAUTIFUL NATURE…
Arashiyama (嵐山) literally meaning “Storm Mountain”
You could easily spend a full day exploring Arashiyama, so here are the highlights…
First let us take you to the most famous landmark, the Togetsu-kyo Bridge.
It looks incredible any time of the year, but if you can visit it in November you can enjoy the splendid autumn view of Japan.
If you can only see one temple in Arashiyama, we recomment you to see Tenryuji 天龍寺.
It’s a part of Kyoto’s UNESCO World Heritage site and also ranked as one of top 5 zen temples in Japan.
Finally, of course there is the iconic Bamboo forest. And if you continue North from here, you will also find some beautiful mountain paths and smaller shrines…
There is lot more we could say about Arashiyama but I think it would be best to just head there and see it for ourselves…
That’s all for this video Thanks for watching. See you next time…
